October 24 9:30 a.m.

This week, Pastor Rhodie’s sermon is “First, Last,” based on Mark 10:35-45. Jesus’ disciples James and John ask for special treatment, and Jesus explains the nature of discipleship. You’ll have a chance to sing “Stand Up and Bless the Lord,” and Kirsten Fisher brings the Children’s Sermon. We’ll sing “Sent Forth by God’s Blessing” at the end of worship before a reception honoring Deanna Blomgren for her service at NHUMC.

According to the Minnesota Annual Conference, we have returned to the “Yellow” phase of Covid precautions, based on the positivity rate in our area. This means social distancing, indoor masking and no congregational singing.

Worship is central to who we are and what we do at Normandale Hylands. Our use of online worship to reach others does not change this basic fact. You are welcome to worship online or in person.

Every Sunday we gather together expecting to experience God through the music, prayer time and teaching. We worship through a variety of ways including a strong commitment to sacred music as well as uplifting, relevant praise.

Come as you are but expect to leave changed, for God is at work.

The Hyland Ryngers, the Normandale Hylands handbell choir, continues, but we are unable to rehearse with the Chancel Choir at this time. We are open to individuals and small ensembles providing special music.

Contact Nadia Johnson, Director of Music for more information.
