From the Pastor: Celebrating Resurrection

I think it really is spring!

Of course, I thought that two other times already this year and had it wrong.

There are those cynical days, those blustery days when we find out that the spring we celebrated did not hold. Those days happen for more than weather. Those are the days when some say, “see, I told you so.” Those are the tough days of faith.

The thing that God teaches us through the seasons is that the spring is still coming. New life is coming. Every springtime, I know the warm days, the fragrant lilacs and green grass that it all is coming. It just does not necessarily come when I believe it should or even sometimes when I believe it actually is coming.

There are the cold days. We know that by experience. There are the dark and blustery days but they do not hold. Spring comes and we know that by experience. Every round of seasons teaches us that spring will come; reminds us that new life will come. We are resurrection people. Christ is Risen!

May you be blessed to enjoy the gifts of new life; in spring and (blessedly most of all) in Jesus Christ our Lord!

In Christ,

Pastor Rhodie
