From the Pastor: Easter Greetings

There is this phrase we say and it belongs to us. It belongs to you and me and the people who call on Christ from around the world. This phrase belongs to people we miss and people we have yet to meet.

Christ IS Risen!

Those words were uttered on the very first day of the resurrection. They have been whispered in the secret places and called out boldly in many places. The blessed fact of this is that we use the word, “is”. We do not say Christ was risen. That is true but only partially. To say Christ was risen places the event in the past. We would recognize it as an event that has come and gone.

Christ IS Risen!

This is true, was true and will be true. It is our hope in our trying times. It is the source of our joy in the wonder-filled times.

Christ IS Risen. Death could not hold Him. Because of God’s love in Christ for you, death will not hold you. Neither will anything else. This is our Easter celebration. Because of Christ, because He IS Risen, you and I can live risen lives. If there is any trouble, any fray, we can take Jesus’ hand and rise above it. If there is any error or sin on our part, we can take Jesus’ loving hand and rise beyond it. If there is any joy, we can take Jesus’ blessed hand and rise right into it!

May you be blessed to live a risen life. In the dark times, may you be blessed to see the Light that will not be overcome. In the bleh times, my you be blessed to know God’s strength (even power over death itself). In the light and bright times, may you be blessed to enter into the fullness of it through God’s joy!

Christ IS Risen! He is Risen Indeed!

God Bless you!
